The society hosts the annual village bonfire celebrations and raises money throughout the year for local charities and good causes.
The next society meeting will be held in the Cross Inn, Staplecross on Thursday 20th October at 7:30PM. This meeting will involve a briefing for all marshals at the beginning followed by a short society meeting to run through the final bonfire night plans. The society is always on the lookout for new members. Everyone is welcome at the meetings – why not come along and find out more about what we do?
All members of E.S.B.S. are welcome and encouraged to march in the procession at the Staplecross bonfire, or any other event which the society has been invited to attend. E.S.B.S. members have a dress theme of either “colourful clowns” or “black/white contrast”. In order to join the procession, members must be dressed in one of these themes and wear their current membership badge – this ensures that we are all easily identified and fully insured!
For the Staplecross event, members must be at least 12 years of age to carry a lighted torch, and anyone under the age of 15 years must be accompanied by an adult. This will vary for different events – anyone bringing children must check the arrangements with the procession marshal of the host society.
